Hi

I am a ranger and have done all the Mallyx pre-quests, so just Mallyx to go.

I have managed to kill the groups and get into Mallyx chamber but can't seem to make a dent in him. As soon as the Margonites spawn, we die.

Me - SY Barrage Ranger
Dunkoro - UA Healer
Olias - MM and SoS
Livia - cant remember eactly (NeRi)
Gwen - Panic Mes
Norgu - Interrupter mEs
Razah - Spirits
Xandra - Spirits

I have read the wikis so made sure Razah and Xandra have the spirits mentioned.

I tried Gaze of Fury but that didnt seem to work because of the long recharge, could only put down one spirit at a time, which Mallyx quickly replaced.

Help!!

Don't use enchants, they get ripped and your party gets destroyed if you do.

yep, you are disabling all enchants, hexes and conditions on your heroes ?

On the last few enemies in the last group in the arena, flag your heroes around the priest.
You run to the gate, and as soon as ur heroes finish the last mob and the gate start to open, rush in and skip the cutscene.

If you did it correctly the gate will be open after the cutscene, so all u have to do is lure mallyx out and gg.

Put gaze of fury on a soul twister (channel spec doesn't matter), otherwise you need multiple copies. Assuming you are running a soul twister with shelter and displacement for safety vs mallyx.. without twisting they are unlikely to stay up the whole fight. Energy is also tricker for this char because you can't use boon of creation.

Hexes/conditions heal mallyx if that is what the mesmers are doing. You can afford one or two hexes/condis on him (which won't stick) but you can't go stacking him up. Example shadowsong, he'll get a little healing but is constantly getting blind reapplied, and will be doing much less actual attacking on your party. Consider a command para instead of 2nd mes, with anthem of envy to buff spirits, and some command support. Enchantments you need to keep completely turned off, hopefully you have some more healing than a UA.

at work now will posts the build i use later but disable all hexes, conditions and enchants, and micro hex's when the spawns come, also remove all the weapons off your hero's so their not auto attacking with them and losing energy.

As others have said, Mallyx will win if you rely on Conditions, Hexes and Enchantments. He'll blow you up if you use enchantments, and he'll heal himself from your hexes and conditions.

The hardest part is fighting the minions that he summons. But once he summons them all and you've killed them, you can virtually wand him to death (well not really, but you get the idea), as long as you don't use hexes or conditions.

Don't be afraid to use hexes, conditions or enchantments during the "king of the hill" event with the High Priest if you have to. It's only Mallyx himself that has skills which punish you for hexes, conditions and enchantments. Just be sure to plan your build so that you can "switch off" all the hexes, conditions and enchantments after you start fighting the big gorrila.

Use either the gate glitch or a soul twisting hero with gaze of fury, shelter, displacement, and union. Either choice should make mallyx cake.

What works for me (Player = Rt/W - using SoS and SYS) with 7 hero::
N/Rt Xinare, N/Rt Weapon of Remedy, Rt/Me Soul Twisting Communing, Rt/Me Wanderlust Communing, P/Mo Empathic Removal Motivation, Para Soldier's Fury Command, W/Rt Tactical Interrupt. Only in NM without cons.
